Seems something knew in the history of WWII

Yes, using AA missiles from USA destroyers against Japanese and German aircrafts during WWII. I would recommend you NOT to buy this game there are much better (see above) with better graphics and historical authenticity. But then they would pose equal threat to the ship they were launched from. Same here, if you make them explode on the surface, they might destroy the torpedoes. If you have a frag grenade that explodes after X seconds, sure you could destroy an aircraft. Using depth charges against torpedoes is like throwing hand grenades towards an aircraft. Neither the graphics are all that good, if you look at games as battlefield, the new Medal of Honor, IL-2 Sturmovic etc you will see a big difference in the graphics. These rockets/missiles on a US Navy ship give the game little historical authenticity. The german plane would fly into the ropes and hopefully get destroyed). (The British had a system of sending up swarms of rockets, with thick ropes attached when the Germans flew low over the positions. If mindless shooters are your thing, try this, but otherwise steer well clear. What do they mean with AA missiles. While the presentation is okay, there's a distinct lack of flash or anything to really drag you in, while the visuals have a bit of atmosphere but are also short on appeal. There's no denying that there's no shortage of action here, with 99 levels to blast your way through, but after about five minutes of play, you've already seen everything there is to offer here. Air Raid is not likely to appeal to anyone but the most dedicated of hardcore shooter fans, and even then, it's not exactly Ikaruga. The only real point to the game is to rack up as high a score as possible, and the game is really just about blasting your way through wave after wave of bad guys before they take down your ship. You've got access to three different types of gun, these being standard bullets, missiles, and finally depth charges to take down incoming ships.

The enemy are coming for you so it's your job to take control of the gun turrets and blow them out of the sky before they do too much damage. The game throws you into World War II where you find yourself aboard a battleship. It's okay if you just want to engage your trigger finger rather than your brain, but even in this respect, it's far from great and you might be better off with Cyberia or Rebel Assault for something that's at least a bit more engaging. Playing out a little like the more modern entries in the Beach Head franchise, Air Raid is a pretty simple shooter but which gets rather tedious rather quickly.
